Do you have the wood or the coal version? How has it been working out?

No. I tried to burn coal, but did not have a lot of success.

I have the 275G- coal burner model.  About to start the second season on it here soon.  I did not try any coal in it yet.

Did you do anything with the slot where the linkage for the shaker goes through? If not, have you had any boil overs in warm weather or excessive creosote?

No. I tried to burn coal, but did not have a lot of success.
I tried it and didn't work at all with the original grate. It would burn for one cycle then the coal would completely plug the slots. I made a new grate out of 1/2" rebar and it made it work much better. It still wasn't great though.

The rebar grate seemed to work a lot better burning wood though and didn't have all the ash build up in the firebox like with the firebrick grate.

I didn't think it would hold up but after using it for a season it wasn't bent or burned away at all.

I put some insulation material around the shaker grate lever to limit the air that can get through that hole.  I have never ran my stove in warm weather and never had it ever get more than 2-3 degrees over the set point.

Also have a NC here.  Ive been a reader but finally joined after almost 2 years.  Seems like NC is slowly going under.  Sad times we live in.

They did just add a top loading commercial wood boiler. Hopefully that does well for them.

Yes, I am but it has been slow due to the EPA regs. I think they are doing a lot better where coal is available.

They still offer the GT6000? I looked at those out of curiosity awhile back, just didn’t want another mild steel furnace.

Yes, they do. I only ever sold one of them and that was when they first came out.
