« on: February 24, 2012, 05:03:49 PM »

Hi Everyone I have a question about creosote dripping out of the door on a Wood Doctor owb? My buddy has one and it has a bad drip coming off the front loading door. It is bad enough that it ate into the concrete the furnace is sitting on!Just thought I would run it past you guys. Thanks for the help Tim

What is the burn limit at?  Last year I found I had quite a bit of creosote.  This year I turned up the shut off at 180* +.  Seems to do much better, and the wood consumption really isn't as great as I thought it might be.  Actually it may be less.  Mine is an HE5000.

Old Chew You are exactly right.
Dry wood and following the suggested temperatures stops this from happening.
The control aquastat should always be kept either 180F or 190F for a hot water system.
Thank you
