Thank you Boilerman for the info.  Working like new for the time being.  Six more weeks and that will be a wrap for this year.

Okay folks  Used some Blaster and WD 40, a lot effort, and got it working freely.  The shaft going in from the handle, goes through and onto the linkage and on to the damper.  No real access, however seems to work a lot better.  Sorry no pics.

Hello All   Have an older E-2400 and the by-pass handle has frozen up.  Will attempt to take apart and lube today.  Any thoughts?

Hello Roger
Have decided to stay with the 2400 for another year.  Yes at some point we will be down sizing, and like you, not sure I want to continue working up wood.  I was told that the State barn in Lincoln, has purchased and installed a Crown Royal 7400.  At some point I intend to visit and get there opinion as to quality and ease of operation.  As always thanks for your time and wisdom.  Trail Master

I noticed folks up datings boilers about 8 to 10 years old.  I have a CB e 2400 (8 seasons), any ideas what trade in or resale value would be.  My unit is in good condition, however looking at the Crown Royal 7300 E? I hope this question doesn't offend anyone, just kind of kicking the tires!!!!!

Hi Folks  Yes, not sure what the situation is, but I mentioned a couple weeks ago, I was way ahead on consumption of wood with my e-2400.  Glad someone else is noticing the same, season has been cold.  Merry Christmas All

Nice Roger   Must say, that I have been using an above normal amount of wood with these temps. so far this fall.  If the trend continues this will be my heaviest use of wood for any fall/early winter.   Good luck   sounds like a success story.

Roger  Great to hear everything is what you expected.  Are you generating as much creosote or less.  That is one of the draw backs with my 2400 in the Primary air tube and always has been.  Just curious if the newer designs have resolved some of those issues.

Roger  any idea on the amount of wood being used by the 550 vs. 1400, or to early to make the comp.  Interested on your thoughts on BTU output.  Thanks

I have a 2400 seven years, have you been cleaning (back flushing) your exchange in your home.  Easy, without filters, this can be restricted, and reduce flow.  Just a thought!!!!

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / weather
« on: June 03, 2018, 04:01:43 AM »
Hi All   From Lakes Region, we go from needing air conditioning on to 46 degrees here this morning.  We need rain badly, can't wait gardens and lawn looking a little dry.  Also looking on how the new Edge Boilers are working, kicking the tires, but afraid to pull the trigger till  I hear some more experiences. Anything happening?
