Title: Chimney help
Post by: dieselpolaris on December 17, 2015, 07:43:34 PM
Just wondering what you guys are doing on your homemade boiler builds as far as chimney. I just put a 6 inch schedule 40 pipe on mine and sleeved a piece of 8 inch stove pipe through that to protrude through my roof tin. Lastnight it got to hot and the insulation around the pipe got really hot and distorted my roof tin. Considering putting a piece of class a chimney over the 6 inch pipe and using that to protrude through roof tin. Any suggestions?

It’s not cheap but get yourself an actual UL approved double walled insulated pipe and the proper thimble to go thru the roof.

This is what I did and it works great.
