Hello,
Brand new to the forum and I'm looking at a new Heatmor 200 CB.
If my understanding is correct, this was designed as a coal burner. I'm being told that it will burn wood and is identical to the 200 CSS.
Can anyone confirm this or have any experience burning wood in a 200 CB?
What all comes with a new unit? Blowers, pumps, ash auger, flue scraper?
And lastly, does anyone know what the out the door cost on one of these units might be?
Thanks

As far as I know the only difference is the grate shakers and ash grates. The other question you would have to call the company or ask a dealer. They burn wood just the same as they would in the past.

It will burn wood fine but it is only legal to burn coal in it except for getting the fire started. Also, the EPA regulations require manufacturers to void the warranty if burning wood.

Thanks for the responses.
I had thought about the warranty issue also.
I missed out on the deal, I made a counter offer and they sold to someone else.
Great site full of a lot of good information.
I will continue to do my research.

Mlappin said this and it stuck in my head like glue. It is legal to burn wood to start the coal fire, even if it takes all winter to get the coal going.

Hmmmm!

Yah, on the other hand, if I had a supply of cheap coal, several of my saws would be for sale, $220/ton up here is a bit steep.

Marty, would you say that to a known DEP or EPA inspector?
-
Actually I probably would, inspectors for the most part aren’t stupid and know its happening anyways. That’s why I’m surprised that they didn’t phase out coal boilers in the 2020 regs.

Just buy some bags of charcoal stack in wood shed . any inspectors show up throw them in and say
I was told it was coal ??? makesure to get rid of the bags :)
