Turn your pump speed up and the knock will go away.

Do the pumps on shavers run constant or only when the house furnace calls for heat? If the circle pump isn't running constant or fast enough this is possibly causing your steam or boil over. I noticed on my stove if my pumps on low that my water will make a bubble noise which is not enough circulation inside the stove.

starting third year here, no compliants so far , just the normal maintenance , mine will burn green or seasoned , with seasoned better burn and coal beds, green burns but you have to babysit it a bit more , I like it now , unseasonably warm weather and check it every 24 hrs as it sits at an idle most of the time, when it gets cold , below 30 I get about a 6 hour burntime heating 2 uninsulated greenhouses , so all well so far

love the haters here

What are your return temps?

I know a guy running 160 max and his door lip rotted out, so much for 1/2 inch thick certified steel.

155-170. Saves wood and heats house fine. Lower temp and up your pump speed you'll be fine.

Electronics / wall thermostat thermistor setting?
« on: November 07, 2014, 04:53:19 PM »
I have a Honeywell wall thermostat and not sure where to put my thermistor setting on it for operating fan only on my furnace for the wood boiler. It has settings 1-6 for the cycles per hour, what do other wood boiler guys use for your setting?

Haven't even started mine yet. Locked in my nat gas price awhile ago, so until it gets super cold no point in not using the natural gas. Also good to get some use out of the furnace as well to make sure alls well. My back is still too jacked to think about cutting anymore wood for awhile anyways.

Chiropractor dude.

He was in an accident dude.

Sorry for my comment i didn't know what happened, I figured just tossing wood around d was the cause. Sorry

I don't buy into the return temp theory. I'm waiting for mine to spring a leak but I know too many that run less than 180 and have had zero issues.

I'll let you know when it leaks, then when I get a new one I will run 180.
