How many feet long is the loop on the first drawing? And is this regular slant fin or is it the high output?
Depending on the length of the loop shortening into two loops could get hotter temps to the end of the loops.
Are there more loops not shown?  One pump per zone or is there one pump and zone valves?

Yoder - Thanks.  The length of the zone on the first drawing is approximately 60 feet of emitters give or take a couple of feet; that's without the additional 30 feet I installed.  I think it's regular Slant Fin.  This zone is 1 of 4 in my house controlled by zone valves and a taco 008 pump on the return.  I'll be replacing the taco with a Grundfos Alpha.  Roger

I don't work with copper baseboard every day like some guys but a 90' loop along with three other zones to take up available flow looks like a recipe for low flow and huge Delta T (low water temps with poor output on the last half of the loop).
Depending what is on the other zones they might could be throttled down to send more flow to this baseboard loop. Breaking it into two loops sounds like it would be helpful to me too. An Alpha on auto-adapt should be able to adapt to the zone valves opening and closing.

Just my rambles. I'll listen to other guys ideas now.

Have to agree, baseboards and radiators in general went the way of the dinosaur around here.

its all either forced air for the central AC or radiant.

Most baseboards and rads are in older houses around here. But I've hooked up salvage cast rads for people, they make great heat.
I hate to see them die out.
