I know, I know, they have a bad reputation but let's leave that aside for now please.
I stumbled across one that is about 10 years old, I think it's around 225k btu
Do they have round firebox's? Are the older ones as problematic as the newer ones?
It has been repair'd by a certified welder and the owner assures me it is leak free, he replaced it with a new gassifier (I'm not sure of the brand, green maybe?)
anyway, I was just wondering if it's even worth bothering with, it's close to home, cheap and if it has a round firebox I'm thinking I can modify it a little to make it more efficient.

I think they do as they intended to, not a bad stove, simple, easy to operate and repair

Mine is in its 9th season and still going ok. It keeps us warm 2500sqft plus hot water and heated attic. The house is is 79.3 right now not. I had to weld a hole around door once but other than that and bypass arm breaking it is still going good. If you can get it cheap I say give it a shot.
