I don't think there is much hemlock in my area. I'm leaning towards Pecan. Agree? Disagree?

Definitely not Hemlock, at least not the version I see here in the Northeast, I would almost bet Pecan but we don't have them here so I would not know for sure

Looks like pecan to me.
I was thinking green or white ash until I saw the slight jagged edge on the leaf.

Thanks Sloptster. Also, the White Ash I've cut doesn't have a darker core. It's the same glowing white throughout the wood.

On Northern Vancouver Island, Hemlock is one of our main sources for firewood. The bark has a more open grain than the bark in your picture.
