insulation in my 200ss
« on: October 06, 2014, 04:20:20 PM »

I was thinking of putting more insulation in my heat mor cuz I noticed last year that it had a lot of heat leakage what would be the best kind of insulation put in there. top and in the back. Mine has the piece of plastic on top so I'll put it under the plastic. Thanks for any info. Back to cutting wood.

I took the roof off of my 200 last month and noticed the insulation had some big gaps. I fixed it up and  added a layer of R20. I've also added a piece of foil backed styrofoam to the front and back doors.

I did the exact same thing a few years ago.  Don't pack the insulation too tight.  Not sure if the bubble foil insulation helps much, but it should some as the doors are pretty thin.

What kind of insulation did you use. Mines a 1996 200ss
The insulation that's in there super itchy.I'm thinking some
Of that white insulation on top .and keeping that plastic sheet
On top of that so I'll be stuffing it in there. With doors I was
Thinking sheet of non itchy insulation on back . and leaving front
Alone.

I used some pink fiberglass on top. Like Lindnova says don't pack it to tight. For the doors I used 2" ridgid styrofoam.
