I'm wondering if there is a noticeable difference between these underground pipes? I currently have 5 wrap that is buried 36"-48" underground. I'm considering tearing it out and installing either Logstor or Thermopex to try and save on wood consumption. Im about 75' from the house.

If there is no water in the tile then I doubt you will see a huge difference.

What’s your temp drop from boiler to house? Everything performs about the same until the wrapped pipes gets water in them.

Supposedly a quality five wrap has less heat loss than foamed pipe as you have a dead air space between the wrap and outer pipe. Get water in it though and all beats are off.

My line has been cut off from the house and just sitting on the ground as I'm rebuilding my house. It has snowed and rained a lot. If there is any water that has snuck in there, i'm hoping it will evaporate out with time?? As far as I know, the outer tile does not have any holes

Whats the best way to measure the temp difference between the boiler and the house without spending a bunch of money on probes? I have always wondered how much I am loosing. I have the 5 wrap and have had some damn chipmunks dig holes near my line and I always worried they got into it.

I pulled out my 5 wrap and replaced with Rehau. The 5 wrap was dry, but I notice a big improvement in heat loss and and burntime since I put in the Rehau. Im not a dealer of anything, just my opinion.
