I'm not sure you'll influence international politics by trying to boycott, but it's like praying...if you think it helps, feel free as you're not really hurting anyone. The idea you will eliminate or reduce china made products from you consumer diet seems like folly. Real influence, unfortunately, is a diplomatic dance with no easy solutions.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / conventional OWB
« on: December 27, 2021, 03:02:33 PM »
It's been about 12 years since I bought my Nature's Comfort 325 G...its been a solid investment. I easily saved $50,000 in oil bills. Sure, I've spent tons of hours handling wood, worked my equipment hard and had to fix some stuff I broke. It really has provided some savings, but more importantly, it has allowed me to keep the house as warm as we like while getting rid of dead and invasive trees.
I've experimented with all sorts of wood species and sizes, but for the first time in 12 years, I have not split a single piece of wood...every piece is bucked to a size an old man can pick up. It's been a mild winter, but I'm happy with the reults so far.  I'm so glad I don't have a gasser...it would never have burned 3/4 of the crappy wood I typically use. Once this OWB is finished, I'll be sad.

I checked with Grundfos and was told it is an OEM pump, so that's why its black. Thanks for your help.
I have to put the pump on and then start cutting...not one peice of wood ready for the winter!

I thought the FC is for open systems and F for closed. I guess that's not the case and its fine to use on my OWB.
Thanks guys.

Natures Comfort / Re: nature's comfort

That's too bad. I like my 325G...simple, sturdy and handles any wood. I burn wood to get rid of it, so the extra wood use compared to a new gasser doesn't bother me. I use about 10-12 cords of rawly processed wood (chainsaw to stove for about 50 percent of the wood) a year in central maryland.
Im probably done with OWB's after it rusts out, but its been a good ride!

I think you are right about wireless. I need to research the best way to extend my signal. I always get lost reader about the best solution.

I hope Marty doesnt let this forum get sucked into the Facebook muscle flexing.  Marty has always been fair, and I think anyone can try to promote their brand on this site...isnt that right Marty?

I’ve offered to buy and upgrade the site, but seems difficult to engage actual owner of this site.
The Facebook sites turn many folks into idiots.

Plumbing / Re: Heat exchanger hook up
« on: February 14, 2019, 07:18:33 AM »
I guess the only issue I have is during warmer days, when house doesnt have much heat demand, the oil furnace kicks on when I have hot water demand.
I should reconfigure my hot water heater set up.
Yes, the red thing is the top of the oil filter.

I wasn’t convinced I had “counter-flow” thru the hX. The supply from OWB is on the bottom and the return from the “house side” or oil furnace is on the top side. Just want to make sure I have correct flow.

Plumbing / Heat exchanger hook up
« on: February 12, 2019, 09:37:37 AM »
I’m believe I have an issue with how I connected my 80 plate heat exchanger to oil fired furnace. I’m wondering if this is hooked up correctly? Is the attached photo enough info? Thanks for the help.
