Priced a Taylor 450 . 50 ft from house all I have to do is pour the pad $8,500  is this a good price....

 I have no idea what the list price is for Taylor but a 450 is a similar furnace ( less BTU's more water) to our 3000. I install the 3000 installed with 100ft of insulated pipe for $7,200 plus 5% sales tax. That should give you an idea of what furnaces in that size sell for.

Since you live in tn buy a Tennessee Outdoor Furnace located in SHelbyville. Good stove.

My wife's grandfather sold and installed Taylor in Indiana before he passed away about eight years ago. I have been around quite a few as some of the family and neighbors have them. I have not been at all impressed by these boilers. I do not like all of the exhaust tubes that have to be cleaned. I had one family member who had them clog so bad he had to build power drill attachments to ream them out. Also because of these tubes they will not naturally draft. I like the idea of a fan to ignite a fire but I feel they blow btus out the stack. I know you only asked for opinion on price. Look around for a Central Boiler dealer. There are other brands that are spoken highly of on this forum also.
