ECM pumps vs 3 speed pumps

Has anyone swapped out their single or 3 speed pumps for an ECM pump? Was there any savings in elec. costs? If so was it cost effective to make the swap? Looking at pumps for my system and need opinions.

If you can get an equivalent sized ecm pump then you save about 50% on electricity used.
I am running an Armstrong 20-20CI and it performs exactly the same as the Grundfos 15-58 did that it replaced but uses about 1/2 the power.
For an extra $40 it can pay for itself pretty quick if you have high electricity rates.

Thanks RSI, I don't mind spending a little more if the return is worth it in the long run. After all (money wise) everything goes down in time
