General Discussion / Re: Rude/ ungrateful children rant

Mr. Maple, God help me if anyone show's up and has those words for me! But that child would of had absolutely nothing the rest of it's time with me. They would have there roof over their head, they would get clothes and they would be properly feed! Period! Nothing extra at all. They think they had it bad, they would know the meaning of no having anything. Wreckit I feel your pain, I actually asked my step sister to leave our Christmas party at my house last year because of her youngest throwing a tantrum because he didn't win a game. To my surprise was my Dad saying that I was taking it to far and needed to stay out of it. My response was you would have busted my ass or her ass when we were going up and the only reason for his actions were he never has had his butt spanked in his life. I'm talking about a spanking, my Dad beat us and there is the difference! I respected his authority and what he said was what we all did. My 3 children were raised with plenty of spankings in their life, and to my surprise when they left my 3 responded, WOW he is spoiled Dad. Glad I did my job.

I am in the same boat as your co worker but with turkey. I didn't start hunting till I was 22 and didn't have anyone to show me the ropes so learned the hard way by mistakes. My dad hated guns since being drafted into Army for Vietnam, so no guns in his house. Didn't take up turkey hunting till 1996, but still haven't shot one yet. And to this day is still my favorite thing to hunt. Oddly enough I have called 3 turkeys in for other people to shoot....

I have a 5036 but mine doesn't have any grates in it. Did you add these to your firebox?

Thank you for the reply. Good to know. Weird thing is every time I try to post and you have to go through the verify questions it always says I am typing one of them wrong even though it is typed exactly like it shows.

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Central Boiler boil over
« on: November 01, 2017, 03:23:26 AM »
Woke up this morning hearing my furnace kicking on at 2:30. Thinking to myself laying there why the hell is the furnace kicking on...I jump out of bed knowing there is a problem. I loaded my Central Boiler 5036 last night after dinner around 7 and everything is running great. When I ran out this morning the boiler is out almost out of water and sitting at 208 degrees. For what ever reason the damper is still open which is what caused the boil over. After turning off the power I checked all fuses and simply touched the damper door and it shuts. So I slowly started to add water back into the unit and unplugged my pump so I could watch the temp, which only got down to 131. Once the water got above my pump I  plugged the pump back up to start circulating the water. So I figured I have a bad damper solenoid. But once the temp went to 174 the damper opens. So I start a small fire so I can get the temp up to see if it closes at 185 but my question is has anyone else seen this?

General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Central Boiler damper solenoids
« on: March 06, 2017, 04:39:23 PM »
Just wondering if anyone else has problems with these solenoids lasting. My 5036 is only been running a total of 9 months in the past two years and I've already had to replace 2 of these damper solenoids. Is there another solenoid to use other than the one central boiler sells? Am I doing something wrong? I scrap any creosote away as it starts to build up so it doesn't build around the damper opening. Any suggestions appreciated?
