meat Thermometer / oregon scientifc
« on: October 31, 2015, 12:05:02 AM »

I have read some posts about the meat thermometer and I did buy one but it seems to work only for a "timed" period. I have to go out to the transmitter to restart it and then watch the receiver for the temp. It shuts off until restarted. To what advantage is this.  Or...did I miss something in the owners manual?

I use a redi check. Transmitter in basement receiver up stairs . It works very well. Strap probes with tie wraps to piping under insulation to get best reading.

The redirect check I have has two probes. One labeled smoker the other food. I strap one on supply to heat excganger, the other to supply coming out of heat exchanger going to my oil fired boiler. The one that reads wood boiler supply to heat exchanger Iis my main cconcern. I can tell at a glance if I need to add wood.
