draft door size
« on: January 05, 2016, 08:33:43 PM »

To those of you having problems with recover times me and my friend order 3500 or 6000 model stoves (same stove they changed model name) last year I have had problems with recovery times and burning twice the wood he does could not figure out what was gong on we are heating the same about square footage we noticed his draft door was bigger about 1in taller and 1in wider when we ordered our stove we got forced draft kits but never used them so to simulate the better draft he gets I make a adjustable cover for the in let of the fan to damper the amount of air it could draw I did not see the need for the fan to run full blast so far it seems to have cut my wood usage in half before I did this my cycle time were between 1 and 3 hours and I could only get about 10 hours on 10 tp 12 pices of seasoned hard wood I think it was never burning hot enough to get a good heat transfer I will report back with the draft door sizes and how it's been working also I'm wonder how many people have this small door

I have a 3 year old 6000 so I'm assuming it has the smaller draft door. I Haven't had any issues with recovery times but I'm interested in what you tried.
