This summer i changed the pipes so that it draws from the bottom and return to the top.I now notice that there is a 10 to 12 degree temp drop from the stove to the house that i did not have before.

I just did the opposite not sure yet but I think I gained   the 10 degree's I need when it gets  real cold

I is probably more likely the water coming out of the bottom port is that much colder than the top. Do you know how fast the water is circulating in your system? If not, what size pump do you have and about how many feet of pipe in the system and what heat exchangers.

Exactly, you may not have enough flow to get proper mixing.

I have a grundfos on # 2 setting.It is 70 ft from stove to the house were the pump is,and 25 ft to the garage.I will just change the hoses back the way i had them as i was not have any boil overs before.

I draw off the top, had no boiling issues in the last two winters of operation, even on gusty NW winds (30-40 mph), my BL would tend to overheat to about 205 degrees, normal setting at 180.

Which Grundfos? A Grundfos 26-99 on low is a step above a 15-58 on High, roughly.

If you run it on high does it change the temperature at the house? You may need to run it on high for a few a couple hours before checking.

If the boiler was designed to take water off the top, you may not be able to get proper flow inside the boiler running it backwards.

Is the lower temperature at the house a problem? If it still heats the house ok, you will have less heat loss from the underground pipe with the lower temp water and maybe burn a little less wood.

Mine is a 26-99.I find running at 180 keeps the house warmer in the very cold temps,mine is an old house,plus i heat the garage which is 900 square ft.It came right from portage to run the pipes back wards.
