I have a stove that I need to clean some creosote off the powder coating that leaked out the door. What works best to get it all off without leaving stains behind?

Here's what I use but be cautious as it will wreak havoc on that sticker right under your loading door.
Why is it dripping anyway?

I had the same thing, I wasn’t paying close enough attention and had a tiny piece of bark caught in the gasket. Cleaned it off and eventually the seal “self healed”. I caught it before it dried on too bad, regular ole mean green cleaned it off.

It was a combination of door being a little out of adjustment, some junk stuck on flange and running in the spring when it was really wet and humid so it idled a lot. Also I was burning up some scrap wood that was stored outside so it was wetter than usual.

Do they sell that fireplace cleaner at any normal stores or would I need to order it online?

I get it at my local hardware store but they order it for me, most stove shops carry it as well.

Has anyone ever tried grill cleaner? It looks like it should be safer for the paint. The goo in grills is pretty nasty and similar so seems like it should work.

Heatmaster recommended Purple Power and it works good but it will fade the emblems on the front. It doesn't always remove the complete stain, especially if it has been there awhile.

I tried a few different types of cleaner and just gave up when the powder coating started to soften.
In the future I will look for the cleaner Slimjim recommended.

I just use diluted ammonia in a spray bottle.  Creosote wipes right off.  I would think it would be safe for powder coated surfaces, but I use it on and in my airbox to clean the damper mechanisms.

I know I had it once but send me your phone number again would you, I found a one way valve that I think would work awesome in your airbox.
