Draft testing
« on: January 07, 2019, 12:12:55 AM »

I was testing how to burn slabs most efficient way.. what could I put over the old pex Al pex in case flames shoot back thru fan . I can't move the pex it's incased in polyurethane from old boiler install . Could I just cover it with thick wrap of aluminum foil? Or something different. I think if it back draft it just be flash flames .. right now I got the 36x54x28 firebox gasifying it fills whole boiler with rose Color flame.
But at below 0f I need to start covering the back draft fan to slow down the chimney heat. When it starts gasifying water temp gos up fast . Burning 13.9% average oak slabs ..

A quick flash shouldn't hurt it anyway, maybe make a metal deflector?
