Grundfos Alpha and Alpha 2

How many of you out there are using these its what I'm wanting to go with but how different is the original Alpha vs. Alpha 2

They work well in their intended applications. We don't have them around here as the Alphas have dropped off in popularity. We don't have a lot of big multi zone low flow jobs where the alpha really shines.
Make sure you note the different pump curves for the different settings, as only fixed pressure will do the spec flow. The auto adapt curve window is much smaller. Good on multi zone valve systems.
I believe the A2 was made to meet new Euro market standards. There aren't any notable performance differences.

THe Alpha2 looks pretty neat, except that its 240v and does not have a flanged option. 
Kinda nice too that it comes with a littel precut insulation form.

Oh I guess I didn't know they were only 240 volt I must have missed that on the alpha 2.

I haven't looked at them lately but I thought they were 220v 50 Hz.

Even on an OWB they are good pumps to use if you don't need a larger pump. They use about 1/2 the power on full speed of a regular pump the same size.
