pipe cleaner
« on: December 10, 2012, 07:56:38 PM »

Cleaning the tubes on the gx10 have become a real pain in the a$$.  The tool provided with the furnace got stuck in the tubes (where they horseshoe around) for the second time in 2 weeks.   :bash:  I reluctantly sprung for the drill kit today.

I have a Hawken GX 10 for about 2 years now and it has been incredibly difficult to keep going.  The flue tubes through the heat exchanger are constantly clogging up with tar/creosote and exhaust flow stops and the unit suffocates.  Anyone else having this problem?

Here's a photo of what mine looks like:

Wow, there def should be no wet creosote down there if it's Gasifying properly at all, mine gets dry flaky stuff but nothing sticky, that looks like a nightmare
