New 2017 g200 has been installed rough plumbing in house is completed finishing rough plumbing in barn this weekend also hooking up electric this weekend and hopefully fill in this thing with water and hoping that we don't have any leaks! We will be hitting approximately 4000 square feet plus domestic hot water. Located in southeast Michigan. Burned in the past with a timberwolf as well as a Heatmor. Burned roughly 20 cord per year. I have a cord of seasoned split red and white oak ready for this year and I'm hoping that it is enough. My family and I are excited to run this new unit and see the difference from our old conventionals.

Yes very nice stove and very good company to work with. I want to say thanks for your help Eldon the situation will be resolved next week. I have been heating the floors up for awhile so I can leave the windows open while it still kinda nice out. You will love the amount of wood this stove doesn't burn and no smoke.

Good luck with the new Heatmaster. I heat 4300 sf house with mine (in-floor radiant) plus domestic hot water, in southern VT. In past years I burned 10 cords+ in a Central Boiler classic, this year since Jan 4 I have burned approximately 5 cords but that was burning all summer long for DHW. I have not gotten into my stacks for this coming winter yet, I know I have 6 cords in the woodshed, so I am going to document the date I start burning it and the day it's empty, or May 1, whichever comes first. Hope to burn less than 1 cord/month for the winter. It is really efficient.

we decided to pipe in a other 1,000 sqft shop bringing the total sqaure footage to 5,000 plus DHW.
i know i will be maxing out my G200 especially when worling in the shop and turni g the heat up...but id rather push the g200 to the max and make that sucker work hard than have a g400 idling all day...figured it should keep the stove clean amd dry at least!!!

It should do fine, and you’re right, better to work the snot out of it than have it sit idling a lot.

You can push a G over the limit a lot more than a conventional. That G200 is strong, I think you'll do good.

Richard was pushing close to 8k heating with my g200 when he was using it for his show boiler. His shop is not insulated. He was able to get 12 hour burns out of it with green wood if I remember right.

I believe it. Steady hard pull makes a gasser happy.

I am routinely getting 24 hour burns with mine, due to the low demand during the summer and fall months. I have had to dump huge amounts of heat into a heat exchanger for my swimming pool, just to prevent the fire from going out. I can easily do 12 hour burns during the worst of the winter, and on a particularly warm or low-demand day, can get by with only loading two or three small splits into the firebox.

You can change the time period between 3 min runs to keep the coal bed alive.

I was outside scooping dog crap up when I heard it kick on...checked water temp at 165...I was confused at first but then realized it was probably that purge cycle

Yes, take a look at the controller when it does it. It will count down from 3 mins.

Been running my G200 since Sept 2015. Heats about 3600 sq.ft. (house and garage) and uses on average a pallett/wk. One pallet = 1/4 cord. I have 26 pallets stacked and seasoned but expect to use less than 20 this season.
Just fired up for the 2017/18 season, everything looks good (apart from some dumb painter that stood on the roof of my furnace and broke all the seals around the chimney and water level gauge). Consumption is light because it's quite mild just now.
My first season was, frankly, one panic to the next that something was not working right - too much smoke? Too much creosote building up? Too frequent re-lights? ..and on - mostly just our inexperience. Now we know what to expect a little better and last two seasons have been pretty much plain sailing. We are enjoying our G200 enormously.
