I don't know what I am doing, but the wire that I moved was the one visible after taking the rear cover off, I believe, this is the end connected to the temp sensor, that goes in to the stove, still have not fixed this yet.   Not really sure where the stove sensor is located under the insulation jacket.

Going to take the control panel off and clean up the contacts with some wd 40 and then do a card board creosote burn out and see how it goes, getting behind on my stove maintenance this year.

WoodMaster / P1 error woodmaster 4400
« on: May 01, 2017, 08:51:53 PM »
I am thinking my thermistor may be bad, moved the wire on the thermistor, started working, error went away but was suspicious of reading lower temp than should have, was watching, sure enough, boil over at 160 degree reading.  Shutting stove back down, but any suggestions of where to start, clean or replace appreciated.

I took the rear cover off looking for mice or baby goat chewing, did not see either.  Goats are small enough to go where they want.  Mice are mice.  The stove has been off for almost a month, but was going to light back up tonight for a little could snap that would allow me to burn rest of wood by stove.

Moved the wire on thermistor and lost the p1 code, but still measuring temp low. Any suggestions appreciated.

I think my temp drops more, a good safety check might be to turn the boiler fan off on a day that we are home and temps are at a level of concern and monitor water temps.  This would tell us how the boiler and other heat systems interact.

We are having the warmest February that I can remember.

My woodmaster 4400 is a 2008 model, after reading this thread inspected mine over the weekend, same issue.  I used a high temp caulk to seal it, stuff is made for wood stoves and for joining or sealing metal, setup pretty hard, if that does not hold will rebuild in off season.

I suspect that this may have caused my fan to fail.

So far, stove is behaving as should.

WoodMaster / New fan assembly Gasket?
« on: February 03, 2017, 06:45:50 PM »
My woodmaster 4400 fan quit, heard it moaning When I stepped out of the house, went and looked at it it and made a screech.....game over, drove a couple hours to Nashville, Il to Kessler Hardware, great people, bought a new fan, back on...all good.

Question: I wanted to get the water circulating again and heat back on, also make sure all is good.  The old blower had a thin gasket, no gasket with the new one, and I did not use any gasket material.
Going to watch for runaway temps next few hours.

Do I need a gasket?   Or, gasket material between blower and the door?

My greatest disappointment now is when the weather is to bad to get to go cut some wood.  After three years on the farm that came with a wood boiler, I enjoy cutting wood.  Good excersize.  I have a 82 year old friend that no longer burns wood, but still wants me to come over and cut some logs up that he has piled up for me.  He still likes to cut and can out work me.

Last week another friend put me in custodial care of a 661 c Stihl chainsaw, I could not wait till Saturday to get to use it.  Used a gallon and a half of premix by myself in one day, another first!

A good day, is a day outdoors with my chainsaw.

I scrape my walls with a hoe type deal all season, and clean ashes regular, never had that kind of buildup.  Also, beginning and end of season do the cardboard burn out.  At the end of season, I remove all ashes.

Not sure if this is right.  Just my third or fourth season of hesting with the boiler.

Lit mine last night, just took 50 degree night for me light up.

My Dad has a similar issue, but he just tunnels a path as he burns to get to the drier or older wood, seems to work for him, sometimes will stack the greener wood to the back later.

My farm came with an outdoor wood furnace, three years now, one of the most enjoyable aspects of the farm, from cutting wood, stoking the stove morning and evening, already looking with sadness to the upcoming day when I let the fire go out for the summer.

I will be 54 in December, I can relate to everything said here.  As my 80 year old Dad says,  "Just stay above the green ".

He still cuts his own wood.

We all can help by reporting spam, another method is block ALL international ip addresses and just make the site a USA site, maybe add Canada if we have Canadian members.

I was talking to an IP guy andhesaid that they are doing this for hospitals now, seems to help.

My story is much the same as Bondo's, a moderator on some other sites.

Best tips for membership:  When see spam, report it for the moderators to remove and usually block the IP address.

The earlier spam is removed the less that follows.  The first spammer is usually a test, if allowed, then the big dump occurs. So, we can all help by reporting the spam.
