HeatMaster Remote Monitoring Update
« on: May 29, 2018, 08:51:52 PM »

We've been getting a lot of questions about remote monitoring lately so here's an update. Some time this year HeatMaster is rolling out remote monitoring for the G-Series. You'll be able to monitor your boiler from anywhere via your smartphone. I'm not sure on the specifics yet but yes, it is coming and soon.

It'll be interesting. I heard it was coming when I went out this spring but didn't hear a timeframe.

Wonder if they will have an update kit for previous units?

Basically the Logo 8 controller needs changed out to a Logo 8.1

If your stove can be updated to the 8, then its no big deal to install the 8.1.

I may be mistaken though, could be they are running Logo 6’s and the new one is a Logo 6.1.

The 8's been on new units for a while, but you can swap a older 6 for an 8, takes a bit of wiring.
Swapping an 8 to 8 is super simple. Pull the pin connectors and unclip from the din rail. Clip a new one on.

6 had the dim yellowish backlight and the 8 has the white led backlight.

Mine must have the 6 then RSI. It is dim and with my ageing vision is hard to see at night.

Any updates on this? I would love to add remote monitoring to my G200. I have had a raspberry pi project on the back burner for quite some time, but if I could get it integrated with the controller that would be awesome

I’ve thought of that as well, best I could figure is being able to tie into the warning light, I’m not a coder so ain’t gonna try to make a Logo and Pi talk to one another.

I haven't heard anything about it lately. It's so busy right now I imagine it'll be winter before it goes further. ?

From my understanding it won’t be this year, I think this has to do with Siemens more than anybody at Heatmaster. Heatmaster from how I understood this wants a person to just enter their wifi data and away you go with an option to share data with corporate for troubleshooting purposes. Siemens is insisting on a yearly subscription that is paid to them, they receive all the data and translate it into something normal people can understand.

If some middle ground can’t be reached talk is of HeatmasterSS having their own user interface with wifi much like the Firestar Control from CB.

This my understanding of the situation.
