I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the epa relaxing the rules on outdoor boilers :)

Rumors like that are always floating around, can’t really see it happening as the testing alone is a cash cow for somebody.

I could see what were supposed to be the next phase being held off a while longer instead of being enacted in 2020.

I agree, the rules will likely stay in place. I haven't heard of any effort to enforce yet... I don't know if a new administration might?  It's all about lack of funding probably, which keeps the rumors going.

Haven’t heard of anybody being busted in Indiana either, but I’m certainly not going to press my luck, Federal and state law says you need a gasifier then a gasifier is what I’ll sell yah. Don’t want it and convinced you need a conventional then go elsewhere.

I never want to end up like these poor souls, even if they ever “win” they’ll most likely be audited every year for eternity.  A prime example of when a government no longer fears it’s citizens.

It looks like your 5036 is a 2009 model; in case you were unaware, any stove made and sold before 1-1-16 is exempt from that law

Good point, I'm not recommending people ignore the law, but I can see why there is misinformation floating around.

That idiot could've easily avoided a 30 year battle by letting it dam up and forfeiting 30 acres of plow ground. Fighting for what's right is one thing, but he's just a doofus with too much money. Little different story than getting caught burning wood when there's not even a penalty in place for burning in a conventional stove
