Bondo.. So what size handle do u feel is the best suited for working with firewood rounds ect
The one of my Dad's, with the big swell at the end of the handle is Great,....
It's an extension of yer hand, 'n ya get a Solid grip on the swell,...
The ones I see at Logger Supplies are usually something like a 24" or 30" handle,....
The one I made is 'bout 18", 'n I just like Dad's ole little one the Best,....
I don't use a pickeroon in my rounds woodlot, just at the near boiler woodlot, for mostly splits, 'n small rounds,...
Outback, in the cuttin', 'n splittin' woodlot, I've got a big heavy pulpwood hook, a maul, 'n a peavey,...
Most times, I kick a block of wood to break the frost, 'n pickeroon it into the wheelbarrow,....
Last month, I was slammin' blocks on blocks, or usin' my maul to break the frost,...
But, once broke free, pickeroon the loose chunks into the barrow, 'n Go,...
The top corner of the pickeroon head makes shavin' ice, 'n snow off the wood a breeze too,... a nice sharp corner,....
A nice quality lightweight pulp hook might work as well,...
The only wood hook I've got is too big, 'n too heavy to sling wood,...
The D-handle of a wood hook makes slingin' pulpwood easier,....
The straight handle of the pickeroon works better on stove sized wood,...
The swollen butt on Dad's is that much Better,.....
