Title: Shaver is now hyprotherm
Post by: hondaracer2oo4 on November 22, 2017, 06:02:37 AM
For those of us who are members on the Facebook group outdoor wood boilers you have probably seen two people in the last couple weeks who had been duped by shaver changing their name to hy pro therm. This name change has caused them to miss during their research of a $6000 purchase that the company has a terrible track record as far as warranty claims and overall failure rate of their boilers. I was wondering if we could change the name of this forum  title to Hy Pro Therm/ previously Shaver or something to that affect so that people might actually come across the name when doing research and not make a $6000 mistake like these poor people have done.

Sure I can, but before I do have any concrete proof?

Sounds about the same though, thicker is better :bash:

Need to do something, original shaver link takes a person to an individuals website, top loader sure looks familiar.

Here is the BBB Listing for shaver. Note the address. https://www.bbb.org/arkansas/business-reviews/stoves-wood-coal/weld-rite-in-salem-ar-90206070

Here is the website for hypro therm. Note the address at the bottom of the page. https://hyprotherm.us/

On Hypro therms website there is this page. It is called "legacy photos" whatever that means! All I know is that it is pictures of Shaver boilers with the shaver name right on the door. https://hyprotherm.us/legacy-photos

The link here for shaver should be removed if it isn't changed since it just goes to a dealer site that seems to sell multiple brands. I would say more about the link but might get me in trouble.   ;D

RSI, are you worried about slander? Hypro therm claims on their website that they have been in business for 44 years!!!! I bet that their incorporation date says differently. Of course they are counting their days as "Shaver" I am sure. So I would call that deceptive business practice at best.

The link isn't to shaver. It is to another company.

Strange that Hyprotherm would want to be linked to a brand with the reputation of Shaver. Seems like if I was starting over I would want to distance myself as far away as I could from my former  company, rather than referring to it as my Legacy.

Hyprotherm used to be Shaver.  However, the company is now under new management.  The product quality is significantly better along with warranties and customer support.  We are in the process of creating a new website featuring all of the products.  If you have any questions, feel free to PM at any time.  Also, if it is possible for the mods to create a new thread for Hyprotherm, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

For the record, the official site for Hyprotherm is now at https://www.hyprothermboiler.com/ (https://www.hyprothermboiler.com/) and not the website in an earlier post.  We are working to get that site removed as it does not represent the company on a national level anymore.

Thanks!
