My wife and I and her son have been living in our house for quite a while, Wendy and Justin something like 15 years. The owner lives a few states away and has always been generous to us over the years and we treat the house as it was our own. The few times he's been here he has always been very happy with the house and yard and has always said that if he were to sell he would want us to buy it from him. So he has decided to sell and yesterday we received his proposal. So what is here now is a 2500 s.f. farm house built in 1830 - 1840 and 4.3 acres. I had the place appraised by the bank and they said it was worth $274,000. House needs about $100,000 in exterior renovations or it would be worth a little more. So his proposal is to divide the property into 3 , 1.4 acre lots and the price is as follows the 2 house lots would be $150,000 and $160,000 and the lot with the house would be $395,000
. Wife and I both just about hit the ceiling. I'm a little confused I'm pretty sure he said he wanted us to stay here. So we told him he could shove it to be nice and we're off to start looking for a new house this weekend. And I'm taking my wood boiler with me
when we go.
