A flat plate on the main loop to separate the systems,  glycol loop through pump and mixing valve for sidewalk side. And a lot more details! :) I think mlappin has a snow melt system? We don't get enough snow down here to even try it.

are you wanting to do this at your house Neal? It could be done but will be pricey, you will need a separate pressurized loop, should include an expansion tank and anti freeze.

Running mine as a open loop for the last fifteen years with no issues yet.

Depending how much of the work you can do yourself the only real extra expense to just pouring a regular sidewalk is the insulation to go under it and along the sides.

Is it anti freezer Marty, I know sometimes Neal can't get home, I'd be concerned for freeze ups, I guess he could use a plate to separate it but evaporation might be an issue unless it's pressurized

Running glycol in the sidewalk loop with a 5x12 20 plate HX which is the last secondary loop in my system. Used a small 1 gallon air tank as a small reservoir, took 1” six inch long pipe nipple and cut it in half and welded in for ports. Glycol doesn’t seem to evaporate as fast as standard water. Rarely do I have to add, I took a one inch pipe cap and cut the threads out on the lathe, that just sits on the top 1” fill port, and since the reservoir is on the return side it never gets above 80 degrees which drastically cuts down on evaporation.
