Anyone using those infrared tube heaters? a buddy of mine is going to put them in his shop.

You mean the lp or natural gas? They use a tremendous amount of gas. But they are warm.

I would expect that a heater could be designed using 170 degree boiler water. 
 Just the pipes in my basement which feed the heat exchange for the water heater plus 60' of uninsulated pex  makes a big difference in my basement. If I ran 3/4" copper and a reflector I bet I could eliminate the little rad down there....

Maybe this is off the original topic...

We use these a lot to heat a chilly basement. A lot of heat in a small package, uses lower temp return water well.

A buddy was talking about using the lp ones for his garage, I thought they might suck the propane down.

It’s a nice heat though, but you also must be very careful about keeping them a minimum distance from anything thats flammable.
