Do the new models pass EPA standards? Just wondering as not only do we have to deal with federal regs here but Indiana passed their own as well.

We are tougher in the Northeast than even the federal Regs so a conventional no matter how good is out of the question here!

Welcome to the forum.

I was under the impression a coal unit had to be UL'd for coal only to be exempt.
Not a criticism, just a thought.

Looks somewhat like the C series we offer. Should run nice. Back when I had a grated unit I burned some coal. Loved the long burn times.
What other sizes will there be?

Zero interest in coal in my area unfortunately, even the amish got away from it, course we pay like $225/ton up here while in southern Indiana it’s like $35 for a pickup load.

I think it's great to have manufacturers participating on this forum!

Here in Wisconsin coal is available several ways but one of the most economical ways is by totes like those pictured below on Don Liebelt's Website. I forget now what he charges but per BTU it comes in close to buying wood depending how you figure it... What we're seeing, and it could be just in our area, is that people turning to outdoor boilers are usually trying to get away from recurring expenses and see buying coal as similar to buying propane. In our area, the HeatMaster G-Series and GS-Series are out-selling the C-Series boilers.

Location location location. If I could get a pickup load of coal for $35 I’d have some chainsaws up for sale in short order.

It is all about location, here in Minnesota there is not much coal burning. We use a large amount for testing but that is it. People in states like PA,WV,OH, coal is still a common use. They are paying around $165 a ton picked up. So if you have to buy your wood in log form for $100 per cord coal makes sense, because the BTU is upwards of 3 times the amount of wood.
