Flex hose for pump hook up at boiler
« on: September 18, 2017, 07:31:44 AM »

Hey guys got the heatmaster G 200 set in Place this weekend I ran 1.25 inch Reauh insulated PEX....man that stuff was a BITCH!!!!!!! With the help of my son in about 5 ratchet straps he finally got it placed into the boiler with about 2 ft to spare extra inside the back rear panel. My dealer suggested probably using a 1.25 inch flexible heater hose to make the pump connections as that stuff is going to be hard to straightened out and get in place. I know there were some threads from last year were some others had used this method. Anyone have pics???

i prefer to run all copper if i can....any other ideas for molding the pipe to you can work with it a bit?

thanks gents

I used 1 inch rubber truck heater hose. It is rated for these temps and allows for expansion and contraction of the pex as it heats up and cools down.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the stuff up, it moves a LOT easier if warm. 1” heater hose will work, you have 1” ports on the stove anyways.

Another vote for the rubber heater hose.  Mine was supposed to be temporary but no reason not to keep it permanently.

A little heat does wonders.
Enjoy your new  G. I think you'll like it a lot.

I used a heat gun to help with my 1 1/4" and it worked pretty good. Just remember to heat evenly all the way around the pipe and over 9 to 12 inches in length depending on how much you need to bend it. Be careful to keep the heat gun moving and not over heat any one spot.

Probably a little late now, but bring it in one hole of the stove then connect to the other side and vice versa with the other one. This will also give it some flex if something settles.
