Maybe I should but I ain't gonna, far too much to do before winter sets in.  If my neighbors don't like the looks of my lawn they have my permission to mow it for me.   ;D

I need to mow mine, just hate to take the time to do it with so much other stuff to do. I may mow just around the boilers and pumpkins sitting in the yard.

Pumpkins haven't rotted yet?  We just got ours last week and I took them to the compost pile yesterday, with a snow shovel, yukky

Look at my avatar, that blower is 6ft wide.  If you really want to mow, you can borrow it to clear the lawn so you can.   ;)  Roger

Roger,     Is that blower hydraulic driven?   Been thinking about getting one of them. Last year my neighbor took of for Florida for a few weeks and asked if i could keep his driveway open, we got two storms at 24", plus neighbor at the end of the road snowblower broke, conveniently before those two storms, asked about plowing him out. He had 6 ft drifts when i got down there.

Blower would have been a lot easier.

coolidge - that blower is run off the rear PTO, it has a driveshaft that runs the entire length under the tractor.  The only thing that's hydraulic driven is the shute.  As soon as I find the pictures of how it transfers its power form the rear to the front I'll post them.  You'll need a minimum 40hp tractor to operate it, I will suggest that if you have 6 foot drifts to clear, use the max hp tractor that's allowed to operate it, 60Hp.  Roger

Thanks Roger,

I am going with the 3pt hitch one, if I kept it on all winter would be one thing, but I use my winch cutting wood all winter so swapping back and fourth wouldn't be good.

The 3pth ones are quite a bit cheaper too.  This unit when brand new cost approximately $9,000.00 but I got it for $4,000.00.  It only had one snow storm put through it.  The next day the owner died of a heart attack and the widow wanted to unload it is the reason I got it so cheap.  I would have loved a 3pth one but with the Degenerative Disk Decease in my neck, it's far too painful to be looking backward  too long, otherwise I'd be in considerable pain the following day.  Roger

MattyNH - Me too, it's by far the furthest into the fall I've gone before firing her up.  I have the week off from work so I'll use the time to tuck the motorcycle and lawn mower in for the winter.  Roger

I got a price for around 4000 for a 72", will have to check and see if 54 ponies will drive it.

Just think next year you might be firing up in August.

Fired up the boiler and cut grass on the same day.....October 27th. Weird stuff.
Latest I’ve started. Usually get it going Columbus Day.
