I have a big one in my yard that is always losing limbs and branches.  I have a yard full right now from the ice storm. I burn everything that falls off but have never had any big stuff.

I have a creek through my property so yes there are lots of them , they are a good burning wood, the trick is not to burn it too green ( lots of white smoke) , and not too dried , it gets real light , but i cut up and split it and mix with everything else and it does good. its not oak or hickory . I don't go out of my way to cut it down but will use it when one falls and they fall into the creek a lot

Doesn't burn too bad, can be a bear to split by hand.
