about getting one.

Sure you want one? I think a natural draft transfers more heat than forced draft on a CB. I think forced draft would force the heat up the chimney.

Just my opinion tho.

I have heard that they don't work very good on a Central Boiler because the boiler was not designed for it.
On a brand that they are designed for, they blow the air directly into the fire and make it burn much hotter with the same amount of air. With natural draft the chimney is sucking the air in so it will take the shortest path which may or may not be through the fire.

I just installed the draft inducer for my 6048 in april of this year, i thought i would need it to heat my pool. I watch it all summer and wonder if it was worth the 141$. I could not tell the differance!

I have one on my 6048, i put it on a switch so i have the option of extra air it's off 95% of the time if you think you need more air the linkage on the solenoid is adjustable,  factory setting is the middle hole i have mine in the hole that least opens the door because of the dry scrap type wood we are burning i want the least amount of air i can get, but if I were burning green rounds i would open the flapper and turn the fan on. I personally think they waste more heat thru the chimney than they make, the fan might have it's place on a switch to help ramp up the burn, i use mine to heat my bussiness so i will fire in the morning turn the fan on then go back in 20-30 minutes and turn it back off. Also the fan has an adjustable cover so you can adjust the amount of air the fan can push, you just have to mess with it and you'll find what works for your situtation.

I drilled a 1/2" hole in the front of the blower panel bottom left, you should get a weather proof switch, Lowes have them and i also wired a light to the switch,  on the bottom of the blower, not a 100 watt just a little candle type bulb if your light bulb is to large your fuse won't handle it, there are already holes there, it's real simple to wire,  that way i can look out and know if i turned it off or turned it on. I'll post a pick tomorrow.
