OK i drained my tub and looked everything good one more time.I notice they make smaller single speed motors that will bolt to my wet end where the fittings are.Now im thinking i could put a smaller motor and add my heat exchanger on the discharge side of pump and still use hottub controls.Hmmmm maybe i think too much.

Yeah i think ill try it with pump thats on there it wont save me much money if i use the factory pump its a single speed and runs when either heating or jets are running. Its a 12 amp 1.5 hp motor.Cant i use the factory t stat and controls just T in the heat exchanger on discharge side?ITs 1100 watts running  A 3/4 hp motor that fits the wet end is supposedly 299 watts.Which is more than enough i think to run jets  i never turn them all the way up anyways.Just have water running through heat exchanger all the time like on my drinking water and whenever pump kicks on for hottub it will pump the heated water through?

OK so you were right. My water temp after tube exhanger install was 162 degrees just a tad warm for a hottub.Im going to do the zone valve deal .And use factory motor for a while to try it.The proble i have now is i cant find any info on the pipe thread on the motor
it says 2 inch
2 inch pvc is wrong thread size
2 inch drain like for a sink is wrong
2 inch pvc compression is wrong also
So as  soon as i can find the right thread size adapters ill be in good shape
Thanks!

The only thing i have plumbed in is the tube exchanger in line with my return to boiler.I removed the pump hoping to extend the threaded end out to mount the factory pump outside the tub in a box .Then hook in my heat exchanger.Id like to leave the threaded ends so if i ever want to sell the hottub i just mount the pump back inside it.In other words i need adapters i can screw into factory threads to extend the lines out of it.Im gonna use the three way zone valve with a ranco controller and  use factory hottub controls.

Ok finally found some 1.5 buttress to 1.5 inch mpt adapters they fit perfect. So i dont have to cut into factory tub plumbing. My tub uses a friction ring heater so i can leave it in place and just add my tube exchanger. I hope to have this thing going soon im trying to find some wiring diagrams for the 24 volt side of the ranco to three way zone valve. Thanks   ITs been down a month.Today its 15 degrees with a zero degree wind chill.Brrr    76 degrees inside i also have the flu....

It took four different tries to find it.I did the electric part with the ranco and transformer ill hook the valve up whenever it warms up some.Just hooking up five wires and turning three screws about killed me flu is roughhh.Im looking forward to having a 85 dollar electric bill. With a hottub and 76 degrees in the house when its below freezing outside.
