stepper motor pics and a couple of others
« on: November 13, 2018, 10:31:46 AM »

Here are a couple of pics of the stepper motors that open the primary and secondary air to my CB Edge 550.  Also, I've include a couple of pics of the Heat exchanger access door and with it open.

Once I got the faulty controller swapped for a new one (CB paid for the new one as well as the shipping costs, to and from) all is well.  It's early in the heating season and it's only my 3rd week heating with it but so far, I love it.  It appears to use less wood than the 1400 did and it so much easier to clean and maintain.  According to the manual I should empty the reaction chamber when it gets about 1/3 full, well, at this rate that'll be about once a month or perhaps a bit more.  Everything about the thing is easier.  Roger

Thanks for the stepper motor pictures.  It got me thinking about trying something similar on my E-Classic 2400.  It looks like an air bleed hole in one of the caps ??

I wonder if CB sells a conversion kit from the solenoids to stepper motors?  I could never figure out why they drilled that hole in that one.  I had at one time considered placing a piece of tape over it to see what would happen.  But, the thing is running great so I'm a bit reluctant to do it now.
