G200S
« on: April 11, 2018, 04:30:57 PM »

My Eclassic 2300 got huge leak in primary air tube last week. Pin hole was welded 2 years ago in main firebox so at 9 years of use I’m thinking I need to replace . Much input on The G200S yet? It’s $1700 less here in Canada so I’m thinking a little more smoke in the face won’t kill me right away lol.

All depends when you open the door on em, if they are burnt down to a good bed of coals you won’t get too much while loading, if its halfway thru a load of wood you’ll get considerably more smoke.

I’m running a G200 but I’ll not use the bypass to show customers the difference between having a bypass and not having.

I've run a GS100 for one winter now. Ran a G for three years before. Yes, as Marty mentioned you will get smoke out the door if you load it before it burns down. Mine is installed outside and I don't stand in the smoke so I don't see it as a problem.
The rear shaker handle has worked flawlessly, just cleaned my fan and area above the tubes for the first time since firing last summer. Fan was a little cruddy but running fine, area above turbs had fly ash but could have waited another year.
I shake the turbulator handle about once a week and walk away. Love it.

My Eclassic has smoke bypass but I live in wooded valley with downdrafts AND central boiler never had smoke curtain at the front. Basically doesn’t work very well at all lol. Going to drive to stocking dealer in a couple weeks to look at G200S. After pulling old one apart it may get smaller 2” pipe installed and welded at both ends, going to plug hole and pressure test to 1 psi first before paying welder lol 😂

My Central boiler dealer had me send Picts of hole as he’s trying to get me credit towards new classic edge🤨. My issue is he has an older model in stock with the internal clean out cover over rear tubes. Website shows external door on rear of stove now. Looks to me like bit of a junker, EPA test shows no better than my old Eclassic AND less efficient rating for low and high fire🙄. Dealer has treated me very well all along but I’m not a fan of this new 550 design. Let’s face it , any issues and I’ll need another line of credit just to ship a new stove back for Central boiler warranty approval. Here’s pict of hole 🙂

The new ones have a stainless firebox and flues, most of the old ones with internal flue access are mild steel and susceptible to the same issues with moisture as the e-classics.
Personally I don't see anyone accessing flues from the firebox side. I wouldn't anyway.
I can't see the picture either. I usually downsize to 25%, then attach.

Pressure test held and 2” black pipe fits snug enough at both ends to get my Eclassic welded again.Central boiler did actually give decent discount on new 7500 edge HD but price isn’t that far off G200S with shipping and purchasing new warranty on the 750 ( discounted 750 runs original 2300 Eclassic warranty). My dealer here has been good but after pool season I might just make Canada great again with a Heatmaster lol  >: ;D

There are a ton of third party apps for that on the Google Play Store so I'd guess that would probably be an option with Apple as well.
