« on: January 15, 2018, 07:43:14 PM »
Today boiler wasn't hitting temps like it should, ran for way more hrs of burn time not getting up to good temps, burnt the whole chamber in 12hrs 8* this am but up to 27* most of day.Would get to mid range and back n forth. worked late just got home looking things over opened box to solenoids and one of the 2 solenoids on bottom tube wasn't opening !!great have spares and changed it out and right back to 1200* temps i feel great now was thinking the wood that i just got into was higher moisture but not.Thats the second one in my 4th yr of running, not bad $25 part,i keep 2 on hand.

Central Boiler / E-1450 charcoal trouble fixed
« on: December 25, 2017, 05:26:57 PM »
4 th season n charcoal building up faster then not getting to high range! Made this grate out of stainless and up to 1243 degrees as I type !! What happens is the firebrick under the charge tube wears out and becomes a larger opening n the coals fall thru at a greater rate. It's replaceable but I thought I would try this AWESOME !!!

Central Boiler / Pulse setting
« on: December 07, 2014, 02:57:31 PM »
What are u guys setting this at? Me I just changed to every 15 min because I'm burning mostly locust that's dry but I always seems this wood needs to be mixed with others to burn great when we are having not so cold temps here,40s day just below freezing at night, sure this will change but I never had trouble keeping a good coal bed, this was a big pile of locust I cut up and next time I will go out of my way to mix with some oak,ash etc.dont get me wrong locust is one of the hottest burners just experience over the years ,what do you think? This is on the e-classics

Central Boiler / Great central boiler called
« on: November 20, 2014, 04:47:44 PM »
Just got off the phone they called me from Greenbush,MN. after reading how upset I'm with them,I got my point across about no customer service to talk to.He was great to talk to try to call them if you have some trouble in future?
I spoke to him for 50 min to share my thoughts about dealers stocking the firestar and they may go beyond warrantee ?Shared my thought about the slow ship instead of at least 2nd day or if other dealers had stock of these parts they could work together to help us the customer .My dealer had the firestat on hand Sunshine Tree in N.J THEY ARE THE BEST and doing there best! My firestar should be in Friday hopefully up and burning!!Keep u posted

Central Boiler / Cleaning
« on: October 31, 2014, 03:43:46 AM »
After cleaning and prepping last spring after shutting down for summer, the only thing I didn't do because I couldn't loosen the rubber boots that hold on the air inlets from the solenoids elbows! So just doing a little go over before I start up maybe in a week.I wasn't sure how to remove didn't want to break and forgot till now to do it!WOW it was a 1/3 full The lower one for 3 stage was pretty much clean,THIS IS A MUST TO CLEAN,I scraped it then put a hose smaller on shop vac to clean on both sides from the corner at the back of firebox n thru the port hole.Just thought I would share.
