I understand that their is a fire hazard involved being that wood is burning I have been burning wood to heat my home for the last 5 years. By the way I'm reading and understanding this they have flames shooting out the stack every fill up. Do all the boilers do this? I understand this part of burning wood but if their are boilers that don't do this on a regular basis i would be more interest in one of them

There are tons of boilers that do not shoot flames out of the stack, one of the questions that you SHOULD be asking is what are the stack temps at the breach of the boiler, the higher the stack temp the lower the efficiency and higher the chances of stray sparks coming from the stack, our gasser units are at 260 degrees and our conventional's are around 550, neither will shoot sparks or flames from the stack, they can as any boiler loose sparks from the fill door when loading or stray coals when cleaning so there is always that danger with any OWB. My suggestion is do your research and compare models, pricing and design, best of luck in your search!!

Yes. It shoots flames out the top because too much cfm on the fan. Just bad engineering and the pumps they sell with the stove stink as well.

Victor deep , HORSEFEATHERS !! if you don't have one how can you call it a piece of junk and bad engineering ?

I have one , it does shoot some flames out the top when there is a good fire going and you add wood to it , there is also a cut off for the fan to  turn it off while loading and to turn it back on to prevent that from happening , if you stop and think about it this occurs when you open the door to load wood and are introducing a lot of extra oxygen into the fire, you close the door it has to burn it off and does so in a minute or so .

look on their website and you see the new ones have a chimney cap , mine does not , this design has been in place 2 years now.your comments have no logic or basis to them and are just comments out your ass , mine came with three Wilo pumps and I've been running them 2 years and no issue,

bottom line is these things are like auto preferences , every one has there favorite and bash the others ,

the thing the irritates me is the man  is asking questions to help him make a informed decision and your comments have no merit or factual basis to them but rather personal opinions , you know what they say about personal opinions and assholes
