I had mine set up the end of November 2104, only have to feed once a day.  I love it, hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Night #2, air temp -3 furance ran alot, got about 13 hours on 1/2 load and still had a good fire with a few pieces of wood left. So far very happy with unit.

Csmart- do you experience a lot of smoke coming out the loading door when the stove is idling?  I posted this question in the Hawken page but no response.  I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

Yes I do, I think its just the nature of the beast. Im guessing because the door is bigger than the chimney opening the smoke will take the path of least resistance.

Never thought of that, makes perfect sense.  Do you have any extensions on your stack?

No, was thinkin about it, I live in the country so don't have to worry about any problems with the neighbors. Would be nice just to get the smoke up a bit higher.

I'm in the same boat with regards to location, just thought it might help with the draw.

Hey guys,

I've got a Ridgewood 7500 which is similar to the Hawken and I would highly recommend a 6' to 8' stack.  It really helped our draft.  Most of the Ridgewood guys are running that height as well............vpm

My 2100 was delivered yesterday. Looks a lot like my old Wood Doctor and its bigger than my Ridgewood 7500. Can wait til September to fire it.

Increasing the height of the stack can or most likely will increase your draft which means more heat lost out of the stack, if you go this route, follow slimjims suggestion and get a barometric damper to add to the stack.
