I have a 5036 CB stove that has worked perfectly for the past 2 years.  This year when I started it up about 5 weeks ago, it burned hot enough to remove all the leftover creosote from the previous season and performed greatly until now.  Now, it doesn't seem to be getting enough air because the fire won't re-kindle itself very well without some help.  If I open the door and stir up the logs already in there, it will take off, but it doesn't seem to take off on it's own.  I checked to make sure the draft door was open and it is open every time.  The draft door seems to be open all the way.  Could there be something in the stack plugged up tight enough to not allow enough air flow or something?  I do not have a blower on this boiler, but it's worked just fine for the past couple years.  Any ideas?

Depends on the kind of stack steel box type there is a cover to slide up might need a hammer if you have not had it open if it is the stainless tee take the cover off and check it out but be careful if you still have a fire going it might draft on you

Are you burning the same wood type?  Same moisture content?

Being that it's a non-gasser,  I've seen other posts in the past about the chimney getting plugged.  Might be worth a check if you have not already.

I have had the same issue with my hardy, it has a blower and won't fire real hard. It's because I didn't cut any wood for over a year and I am forced to burn fresh green oak cut about two months ago. I know moisture has a lot to do with it regardless of what anyone tells you! Seasoned wood is where it's at!!

Leave the door open and give your self a good cleaning out! If your wood is green you may want to install the fan its very easy !

I usually save up cardboard and let it clean its self out weekly. I did manage to get the fire going really good last night by leaving the door open for a while..

I have a 5036 and added a fan this year. WOW!!!!!! what a difference. I wish I had it since 09 when I put the boiler in.
