How many pieces are you able to put it at one time compared with your old stove?

In the central I'm mixing the pieces 4"x24 split (my splitter can only split 24" max) and lengths that are around 8-10"x 35"  so let's say 12-14 pieces split and 2 lengths goes just about under half way.. If that makes any sense. And the old furnace I could use split pieces if I ever put lengths it wouldn't burn them unless they were under 6" thick so everything needed to be split I would get around 10 pieces to fill it but the kicker is if I'm going to fill every 4-6 hrs with 10-12 pieces im filling 4-5xs aday .. No comparison between the two

Interesting, and the acme had a under fire air source correct, ant the CB doesn't. Before you couldn't burn anything bigger then six inches because you had no coal bed established below the logs? With the CB you don't risk losing the coal bed because of the fact that it does not have an under fire air source. Did you ever try building up a 3-4 inch coal bed under the fire on the acme? You would have very easily burned 12+ inch logs without an issue if you had the coals and the under fire air source.

I might hv worked but being that it wouldn't get me enough burn time most of time I would refill the furnace it was already burnt out so whatever coals were on the bottom were eventually turn to ash so the most coal I would ever get was from the sides of the grate were it didn't get hit by the blower and drop into the ash pan.. Now with the central I'm always having plenty of coal to move around so as soon as I put them on the coal it almost instantly starts to burns .. I was always worried about having small pieces to get the fire going again on the ACME but not now that fear is gone and hv piece of mind I didn't rialize how much stress it was putting on me I don't about everybody else's wives but sure sure he'll know mine won't go out there to keep her burning..

I see you leave your rounds quite long. I ve found that keeping the log lenth less than the distance from door to the plentum at the back works best. Otherwise the fire is directed up and out the stack. My dealer told me this and I cut mine 18" to 22".I did do the 36" stuff when I first started and it shorter wood works better.

Woody I'm kinda experimenting myself with the lengths to get the most out of it.. So your saying that at 22" in length would be the best length wise on the logs .. I'm keeping everything about 6-8" from the door opening .. I figured keeping them at that length would be ok since the firebox is 60" deep it would still keep them far enough from the chiminey..

I guess I'll just see how she burns and keeps up on the colder days Thanks ..

I have a 5036 and as long as you keep your chimney cleaned out, it will draft fine.  I heat my house (2100 sqft and a 16' greenhouse) in sub zero temps here at 8600' elevation.  Good units.
