Title: So, Ridgewood is still open?
Post by: Chicken farmer on September 06, 2016, 09:53:17 AM
Ridgewood appears to still be operating. They are building new stoves and offering repairs on the old ones and have made an engineering change on the damper. So I guess those of us with Ridgewoods still have factory support??

I saw that. I have no idea what to make of it all. Makes me mad that they made some updates to address problems that weren't problems if they happened to you before. Like your stove cracking all to hell. But hey they will update for only $800 if you haul it to them.

James:

I may have asked you this before, but I bought my 7500 around the same time you did, this may seem like a really stupid question, but when you noticed your leaks, should I assume you were leaking water also?  I've not been able to detect cracks yet.  Thanks.

Yes. I never noticed the cracks until i found the leaks, but I wasn't really looking for any.

Tim is an outright criminal that has served prison time. He is a crook, and is just playing the system. He purposely tried the whole "Going out of Business" thing in order to skirt the warranty issues he was having. I myself got screwed around by him. He has told everyone in the past that the damper door was not an issue with sticking and burning out the solenoids, even though it was an obvious design flaw. I was indeed such a flaw, that they are now back in business and redesigning the stove. Yet he will not take care of us who bought the junk they already sold.

I hope somebody organizes a class action, cuz I'll gladly sign on.

Ridgewood is garbage without Craig

Unless they have a gasifier in the works, can only really sell em in Michigan and a few other states anyways, give the EPA time and they will clamp down on that shortly.

Thank you James.  I must be one of the lucky recipients as I have had no solenoid or leak issues.  Not to say that I won't, but, I've not detected any leaks as of yet.  We burn our stove 365 days a year.  If Tim has served time in prison, so be it.  He has served his debt to society. If there is a design flaw, which it sounds like there may be, that is really unfortunate.  I dealt with Craig and his father and both were first class citizens.  I am happy with my unit which we purposely designed to be under cover and not exposed to the elements.  I appreciate your response James..................vpm
