I don't know about you... but I got a bunch of chain saw chains. I have a local Northern Tools outlet by my house and check for new chains every time I'm in there. I usually get them for anywhere from 6 to 10 bucks or so.
I use them until they're dull, then I hang them on a nail until I'm out of sharp ones. Then I sharpen all the dull ones, and hang them on a different nail, so I always have sharp chains.
Well I got sick of remembering which nail was which so I made this little guy...

nifty scratch...very good idea and nice looking job
your chain prices are good..my best deal at my local Sthil dealer is a once a year (normally in october) special 2 chains for about 30 bucks plus all that Canadian taxes.

Neat rack. If I had that problem though, I think in my cheapness and ingenuity, I probably would have just taken a sharpie to the wall above the nail describing which nail was which.

I file my chains on the saw, till they ain't safe to sharpen anymore then I put on a new one.
