Anyone ever gut an old manure spreader and use it to haul wood?

I have one that I took the beater off and left the slop gate on. Works great. Back up to the wood pile, lift the gate and turn on the apron. Unloads itself in about 3 mins.

Yep, when dad was growing up grandpa always kept a poop spreader around that was too rotted out for anything but wood.

Never thought of that. To late now.

Old turd hearses make great firewood trailers. Mine has a hydraulic drive apron that I currently use with the tractor or skidsteer. I have thought about setting up my log splitter with aux hydraulics so I could run the apron without a tractor or SS when I have the spreader behind the pickup. Split a few logs, run a few more to the back, etc.

My old man does.  Took the beater off and loads it up.
