General Outdoor Furnace Discussion / Re: Exhaust fan set up
« on: November 13, 2017, 05:22:25 AM »
I have a buddy who hooked up a leaf blower in a homemade shroud. Worked pretty darn good.

I was pondering this in my head.  I can pick up a small electric one for under 60 bucks that I could convert into 4” ductwork.  I would just need to figure out how to make the piece over the door

I’ve seen a handful of some very nice exhaust systems for outside wood burners that bring the smoke coming out the door outside through a wall or ceiling for the people like me who’s wood burner doesn’t have an exhaust set up on it.  Is there a place to buy one or where do you get the parts?  I like the ones that have the long skinny opening that mounts above the door!

Never seen above 320 degrees! That's at this last show in Lancaster where the ambient temp was close to 80 degrees and we were running it hard!

That is impressive!

A friend has hundreds of pieces of thin wall pipe (3/16" or so) about 9 1/2' long he said I can have all I want.

Wish I was was closer, that pipe would work great for a firewood tumbler, even though I think I’m going to use angle iron as the 90 degree edge would face in and might knock more bark off.

This system looks really slick. takes a $1.19 to buy one euro and bags are 18.40 euro. Shipping would be the killer even at roughly $22 a bag. Would definitely need my tumbler built to keep the trash out.

That guy definitely took the wood processing/selling to the next level.  That is what I would call a factory setup.  Those bags are pretty amazing.  Marty if you get your hands on a lot of those bags in quantity pricing I will buy some from you.

Where is Edgerton,
Southern WI. About 100 miles south of where aarmga is. A dealer from MN has it there.

I won't be making that one. I'm out in Boone Iowa for the super nationals

Never gave it a thought about all the refineries in Texas, news just said expect gas and oil prices to rise.

Wonder how this pipeline shutdown will affect fuel prices. Sounds like it'll be up again soon but wow- the whole east coast could be brought down by a few pipeline shutdowns.

One more reminder to burn wood!

I heard there is no Gasoline in a lot of area down there right now

You will want to have the nitrite somewhere in the 1000-3000 ppm range.

Honest question.   How come every time I hear this it always goes up and up.  I first heard more than 1500 could be bad for heat exchangers and brass.  Then 2000 then 2500 now 3000.  Should I just add 5000?  Is there really such a thing as too much treatment?

Aw man that's too bad.  Any chance of buying a semi load of wood?  Last I called it was 800 delivered uncut logs roughly 10-12 cord

Load an old 30x50 cord crib with the loader tractor.  Holds about 10 cord at a time.  It gets me through the snow
