Does burning bark = more creosote?
« on: January 24, 2012, 05:23:16 PM »

I,m slowly developing a pile of tree bark that has fallen off of my split pieces of wood.   I want to burn the stuff up to get rid of it.   So what do ya think; add alittle with each load of wood into the owb, or stuff it all in there at once?

I've been burning the bark that has fallen off the wood I have and it has not created any issues.  Long as it is dry or at the least, not sopping wet you should be fine.

When I rake up around my owb, I just open the door and throw it all in while im cleaning up. Ive not had any problems with it, but I try to clean up around owb about once a week or so I probly only have a max of 2 buckets full at one time. I dont know how much you have but if you fill it pretty full of bark I would make sure to be around close because the burn time will not be that great.
