Title: Solenoid controlled damper for the blower
Post by: Leever2000 on October 04, 2018, 06:30:13 AM
My blower failed and have a new replacement Dayton Blower but do not have a damper. My options are to grind off the old damper and have it welded on to new blower. Are the other non welding options?  See typical blower with damper for Mahoning OWF

If you can’t weld it your self is there enough room internally to use pop rivets?

Or even self tapping screws if you're careful to miss the fan wheel.

I had a local welder do the work for $10 and blower working well. Both of doors (firebox & ash) doors are not closing correctly (light at the corners and asked the welder what could be done. He mentioned he has a press, have any of you had doors do this and what did you do? I'm thinking it would be worth a try just because new doors are a little expensive.
